MY NINE YEARS EXPRIENCE AS A PARENT AT DAISY SCHOOL. By Obeahon Ogbeifun Solomon
When i moved into Ijegun with my wife and two children in 2012, my mind was seriously preoccupied with the the kind of school i wanted my children to attend. My search and shopping for school was earnestly carried out. I visited a few schools around Ijegun and it environs but none met the standard I had set.
I was bewildered to realize that Daisy School is two streets away from where I lived. My attention was first drawn to the school at the sight of the flags in the school compound. They were so conspicous that one could see them at the entrance of the street. This prompted us to make enquiry, check the school facilities, class rooms etc and were glad we saw such an oasis in Ijegun.
My daughter Ofure joined the school and we were amazed at the result she was exhibiting. We were so glad that her younger brother Solomon, joined Daisy the next year. We were subsequently blessed with two more children and they were both enrolled in Daisy when they came of age.
I can state unequivocally that Daisy school is a model and the envy of other schools at Ijegun. The school has recorded indelible footprints within it short years of it existence. It outstanding performances particularly in exit classes like primary 6 and JSS 3 are eloquent testimonies to the school’s academic credibility.
The School is owned by someone with a huge appetite for quality and excellence. The ambiance is so conducive and equipped with all paraphernalia for learning. From my investigation, the school has enough facilities that can accommodate more than its present population. The laboratory, the art studio, home economics quarter are well equipped for students’ learning. This appetite for quality is also demonstrated in the quality of staff the school employs. Daisy School teachers are up to date and are committed to upgrading their capacities.
I have had the opportunity to interact with Daisy students and I can state emphatically that they can comfortably compete with their contemporaries in other schools in metropolitan cities.
The school is committed to improving on the status quo. The management is responsible and responsive to the yearnings of the parents and students. They keep searching and thinking out of the box on how to improve the school.
The school is not only succeeding academically but also committed to the moral rectitude of the pupils and students. I am very sure that if the school management maintains and improves a little more on their present pace and speed, Daisy Schools will be a household name and operate at a high level of the pedestal in Lagos.
